Rule 8
Non tourist visa

(1) Non-tourist visas will be issued to the following foreigners and their family members (a) Foreigners involved in social or economic development work approved by the Government of Nepal by incurring expenses from governmental or non-governmental organizations of foreign friendly countries,
(b) Foreigners who have been recommended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work in an organization run by a foreign mission located in Nepal,
(c) Foreign representatives recommended by the Ministry of Information and Communications to serve on Foreign Newspapers and News Committees,
(d) Foreigners recommended by the concerned Ministry to act as attendants of foreigners on diplomatic or official visas,
(e) Foreigners approved by the Government of Nepal to work in any firm, company, organization, industry or business within Nepal for remuneration,
(f) Foreigners recommended by the relevant ministry to work in any international aviation organization in Nepal,
(g) Foreign importers coming to Nepal from third countries on the recommendation of foreign government bodies or foreign country's industry and commerce association or chamber of commerce,
(h) Foreigners who are married to a Nepali citizen and submit a marriage registration certificate. (J1) If a foreigner of Nepali origin or a child of a Nepali father or a foreign passport holder of a mother comes to visit a relative in Nepal or the father, mother, brother, or sister of a foreigner who has a marital relationship with a Nepali citizen, amended by the first amendment.
